Conference Theme and Topics

The conference theme “Gender and Technology Policy & Gendered Innovations" includes, and is not limited to, the following topics:

  1. Gender equality policy for the S&T fields in education, academia, and more
  2. Implementation of projects or measures to promote institutional changes or culture shifts in a specific community or profession
  3. The process and results of integrating methods and knowledge from gender studies into S&T knowledge production and innovation
  4. Other topics related to gender and S&T

The conference will be held at the International Building in National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), western Kaohsiung. All conference sessions will take place in International Building during all the 3 days (27th-29th October).

Airline

The conference takes place at Kaohsiung city, a southern city in Taiwan. There are 2 ways you can get to Kaohsiung.

  1. Arrive at Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH), Taiwan’s second largest international airport with international links. The nearest big hub is Hong Kong (HKG).
  2. Arrive at Taipei International Airport (TPE), then take High Speed Rail to Zuoying Station (travel time is about 1:30 minutes ride).
From Kaohsiung International Airport (小港機場) to NSYSU
  • By taxi: Travel time is about 20 minutes ride and fare is about NTD 200-250.
  • By KMRT+taxi: Take KMRT to O1 Sizihwan(西子灣) Station, then at Exit 2 take taxi to NSYSU (travel time is about 10 minutes ride and fare is about NTD 100-120)→KMRT Timetable
  • By KMRT+bus: Take KMRT to O1 Sizihwan(西子灣) Station, then at Exit 2 take bus Orange1 and get off at the NSYSU University stop (the last stop, Administrative building).→KMRT Timetable, Bus Orange1 Timetable
From Taiwan High Speed Rail (HSR), Zuoying Station (高鐵左營站) to NSYSU
  • By Taxi: travel time is about 30 minutes ride and fare is about NTD 250-300.
  • By KMRT+taxi: Take KMRT to O1 Sizihwan(西子灣) Station, then at Exit 2 take taxi to NSYSU (travel time is about 10 minutes ride and fare is about NTD 100-120)→KMRT Timetable

From Kaohsiung Train Station (台鐵高雄站) to NSYSU
  • By taxi: travel time is about 30 minutes ride and fare is about NTD 250-300.
  • By KMRT+taxi: Take KMRT to O1 Sizihwan(西子灣) Station, then at Exit 2 take taxi to NSYSU (travel time is about 10 minutes ride and fare is about NTD 100-120)→KMRT Timetable

EcoMobility World Festival 2017

Kaohsiung City will host the 3rd EcoMobility World Festival in October 2017. The Festival will enable the city to free valuable urban space from car traffic by opening the streets of the Hamasen neighbourhood (next to the conference venue) in Kaohsiung exclusively for ecomobile modes of transport such as walking, cycling, public transport, shared vehicles and light electric vehicles.
